Governing Documents

A Home Owners Association's governing documents are the formal documents that include its purposes, activities and organisational processes. These documents are public recod and are filed with Galveston County and are available at the county clerk's office.

Examples of Governing Documents include trust deeds, constitutions, articles of association, Declarations, By-Laws rules, rule books and charters.

A list of the current documents that are filed with Galveston County by The Village of Oak Creek Colony are available in the box to the right.

The most commonly referred to document is The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions. This documents describes what you can and can not do to your property, it includes rules on everything from Parking in the Street to changing out your flower beds.
